Brainstorming (Summer '13)

A compilation of randomly arranged ideas and sketches to be kept for later use. 

(Left side Original Right Side New Design) This sketch utilizes the pre existing wall that protected the Road running parallel to the boardwalk. It also introduces a man made dune with a concrete core. This dune will be reinforced by planters resting on top. The planters will increase the strength of the dune by extending pipes from the base of the planters into the concrete core of the dune itself. Also, the drawing shows the boardwalk overhanging the pre existing wall to decrease the amount of force that would be on the boardwalk in the event of flooding or storm surge.
