Alternate Solutions: Main Building Connection
| Solution A: Spike Drop Connection. This solution functions as a direct connection from the walkway support system to the building. Spikes are embedded in the concrete support system, and the building is fitted with brackets |
Solution B: Drop Through Connection. This solution requires concrete columns attached to the base of each corner of the building. As building is lowered onto specified site, columns insert into pre drilled holes through concrete support system.
| Solution C: Slotted Construction. Buildings using slotted construction will have slits cut to the width of the concrete column supports. The building will be lowered onto the supports and then attached with additional rebar/ bolt connection. |
| Solution D: Bi- Planar Connection. At the base of each building utilizing this solution, two concrete beams will be placed parallel to the support beams. When the building is lowered onto the specified site, the parallel beams will fall adjacent to the inside of the support beams. The building will be attached on both the X and Y planes (Horizontal and Vertical planes) providing a more rigid connection. |
